Zero Tolerance

There is a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding the verbal and/or physical abuse of any person at any Club function including but not limited to practices and games. All players, coaches, and spectators are expected to demonstrate proper respect for other players, coaches, referees, and League officials. Any such abuse will be subject to severe discipline and possible suspension from games and/or leagues as the NHAYSL Board Officials decided.

Do not attempt to discuss game disputes or complaints with the referee!

Any comments or complaints are to be written on the game card by either the coach or assistant coach only at the end of the game. All game cards are sent to the NHAYSL Referee Coordinator for review and action if warranted.

The NHAYSL Board Officials shall have the right and authority to suspend, bar completely or otherwise discipline any player, coach, team parent, parent, or family member from the organization for failure to abide. This action is subject to approval by a majority of the NHAYSL Board Officials within five calendar days.

Code of Conduct

Parent Code of Conduct – North Highlands Antelope Youth Soccer League

As a parent or guardian of a youth soccer player, I understand that my actions and attitude significantly influence my child’s experience in the sport. To promote a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all participants, I hereby agree to follow this Code of Conduct:

1. Respect the Game
● I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players,
coaches, and officials at every game, practice, or other soccer event.
● I will respect the rules of the game and the decisions made by referees, coaches, and
league officials.
● I will never engage in or encourage unsportsmanlike conduct such as booing, taunting,
or using profane language or gestures.

2. Support the Players
● I will support my child and their teammates with positive encouragement, regardless of
the game's outcome.
● I will allow the coach to coach. I will not give instructions from the sideline that may
conflict with the coach’s guidance.
● I will never ridicule or yell at my child or any player for making a mistake.

3. Communicate Appropriately
● I will address any concerns with coaches or league officials respectfully and privately,
and not during or immediately after games or practices.
● I will use the 24-hour rule: waiting at least 24 hours before approaching a coach or
official to discuss a concern.

4. Promote Safety and Well-being
● I will ensure my child arrives on time and is properly equipped for practices and games.
● I will inform coaches of any medical conditions, injuries, or special needs that may affect
my child’s participation.
● I will refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, or drugs at any soccer events.

5. Be a Positive Role Model
● I will set an example of integrity, respect, and responsibility for all youth participants.
● I understand that youth soccer is for the players—not the parents—and I will keep the
focus on fun, development, and learning.

Any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action by the league or club,
which may include:

● A verbal or written warning
● Suspension from attending games or practices
